Secrets of Tashkent Cuisine

This day is entirely devoted to Uzbek cuisine. It begins with a traditional tea ceremony and dried fruit, followed by a full hands-on workshop guided by an experienced cook covering the three signature dishes of Uzbek cuisine: baking flatbread in a tandoor, shaping and baking samsa, and cooking plov step by step — from the zirvak to the rice and final steaming. The day ends with a generous dastarkhan feast, where you'll enjoy the dishes you made yourself alongside national sweets and drinks.

Highlights

  • Full plov-cooking process guided by a professional cook
  • Baking flatbread in a real tandoor
  • Shaping and baking samsa by hand
  • A generous feast of your own dishes at the end of the day
  • Guide and transfer included

Day-by-day itinerary

The day begins with a transfer from your hotel and a traditional Uzbek welcome — tea with dried fruit. Next comes a flatbread-baking workshop: you'll knead the dough yourself and watch it bake in a real tandoor. The following stage is making samsa, from shaping the dough to baking it in the same tandoor. The highlight of the day is cooking plov under the guidance of an experienced cook — from frying the zirvak to layering the rice and letting it steam. The program concludes with a generous dastarkhan feast — all the dishes made during the day are served together with national sweets and drinks. At the end of the day, a transfer back to your hotel.
