This two-day route combines the historic center of Samarkand with a trip to Shakhrisabz and outdoor time in the Miraki mountains. On the first day you'll visit the memorial complex of Imam al-Bukhari, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, the Hazrat Khizr Mosque, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, and Registan Square. On the second day — a drive through the scenic Shakhrisabz mountains, the ruins of the Ak-Saray Palace, the Amir Timur monument, the Dorus Saodat and Dorut Tilovat mausoleum complexes, followed by a cable car ride up in Miraki and a walk along the reservoir, with the option to go boating.

The route begins at the memorial complex of Imam al-Bukhari, honoring the memory of one of the greatest hadith scholars in the Islamic world.
The Shah-i-Zinda necropolis — an "avenue of mausoleums" with blue tilework — is one of the city's most revered sites.
The Hazrat Khizr Mosque on the hill offers a panorama of the old city.
The Bibi-Khanym Mosque impresses with the scale of its portal, built on Amir Timur's orders.
The day ends at Registan Square, with its three madrasas — Ulugbek, Sherdor, and Tillya-Kori.
The road passes through the scenic Shakhrisabz mountains.
In Shakhrisabz — the Ak-Saray, the grand ruins of the palace that symbolized Amir Timur's power, the Amir Timur monument, and the park of the same name.
The Dorus Saodat complex (the Timurid mausoleum) and the neighboring Dorut Tilovat round out the cultural part of the day.
The route then continues to the town of Miraki at the foot of the mountains, where a cable car ride up offers a panoramic view from the top.
A walk along the reservoir closes out the day; those who wish can go boating.
